The concept of personal assistant for interfacing
human actors
We are interested in mixed application, i.e., application in which humans
are included in the system. We solved this problem by associating every
human person with a special interface agent, that we called personal
assistant. Its role is to translate human requests into messages
that can be understood by the other agents of the system. This agent has
the same architecture as regular agents, however its skills are specialized
to insure a good interaction with the user. It implements what N. Negroponte
called a digital butler.
The results on the personal assistant agent result from the thesis work
of Milton Ramos.
